Following is a list of frequently asked questions along with their answers. If you have further questions, or if you would like more information about any of our dental treatment options, we invite you to ask Dr. Pinney:
Will it hurt?
Each of our team members has been trained to make your visit as pain-free and comfortable as possible. With the newest advances in sedation and comfortable dentistry, you can rest assured that you will be in good hands at Joe Pinney Family Dentistry. It is our priority to make you feel safe and secure in our dental seat.
How much will my treatment cost?
After you and Dr. Pinney decide on what treatment will be best for you, our office will estimate your treatment cost. For our patients with dental insurance, we make every effort to maximize your benefits and estimate how much your insurance will pay. Our goal is to help our patients be accurately informed about your financial obligations.
How long will my treatment take?
That depends upon two things: the treatment and your personal preference. Different patients have different dental goals, so if you would like to space your treatments out over a longer or shorter period of time, we can work with you. Our office usually tries to schedule longer appointments that allow us to complete more treatments in fewer visits.
Do you treat children? If so, at what age do you recommend seeing them for the first visit?
We love kids! They are some of our favorite patients and many times are the first family members we see. We usually recommend that children first visit us around their third birthday. They will attend what we call a “happy visit”- a relaxed, very low-key visit that gets them acquainted with our office and team. This visit is free of charge.
Can my teeth be whitened? Is this safe?
The answer is yes! For over ten years, we have used tooth whiteners, and we have never seen any problems with our patients’ teeth or gums. The only problem our patients have had is a little bit of tooth sensitivity. Whitening is a great option for anyone looking to brighten their smile.
